Best Trition is a bay gelding who is trained in Ireland by Alan Aherne.
Olly has enjoyed a lot of success buying from this yard including Notre Pari as well as Foxtrot Racing’s Here Comes Johny. Alan looks after his young horses very well but there is plenty of improvement in them once they move onto better facilities.
Best Trition has run in three Point to Points in Ireland. He finished a close up 4th on his debut, then 3rd on his next start and then 2nd on his most recent start, 20th December when ridden by Jamie Codd. The form of his Points to Point races has worked out very well
The horse that finished just in front of him when he was third was since gone through the Tattersalls sales ring at £50,000.
His Point to Point rating of 85 is impressive and he clearly has ability.
Olly is very excited about Best Trition, who has just turned six. He looks like he could be a talented staying chaser for the future.
Olly Murphy was recommended Best Trition by his good friend and jockey, Jamie Codd.
Olly and Jamie have been close friends since Olly worked at Gordon Elliott’s yard.
We’ll run Best Trition over hurdles to the end of May this year and then give him a summer holiday before going chasing next autumn for the 2021/22 season.
It will take Olly around five weeks to get him fully fit and then we’ll run him over hurdles for the rest of this season. As a maiden running towards the end of the season, there will be plenty of good opportunities for him over hurdles in the coming weeks.
We believe syndicate finances should be clear and transparent. We don’t add on any ‘risk fees’ or simply keep any member payments which are spent. Best Trition cost £25,000 so the cost is £1,250 per 5% share.
Racing, training and registration costs until his summer break (31st May 2021) will be no more than £725 per share. If costs are more then we will cover the additional amount. If costs are less, then we’ll give you back whenever hasn’t been spent. This way you know your maximum outlay and only pay the actual costs of owning your horse.
Therefore the total to cover capital purchase and all costs to 31st May is £1,975 (£1,250+£750).
Olly is young and hungry for success. Having been Assistant to Gordon Elliott he set-up his own yard near Stratford-upon-Avon in 2017. Three years into his training career and Olly has trained 216 winners, won over £2 million in prize money and is a Grade 1 winning trainer.
His yard now boasts outstanding facilities and despite his success Olly remains hard working and keen to bring more success to his owners. We’ve had horses with Olly from the moment he started training and Olly appreciates our early support. He still considers winning ‘the longest drive’ at the 2020 Foxtrot Racing Golf Day as one of his greatest acheivements!
