Charlie is one of the most exciting young trainers in the country. He is seen as a trainer that will be challenging for the Trainers Championship in the years to come.
Before taking out his licence, Charlie spent time gaining experience with Oliver Sherwood and Nigel Twiston-Davies before joining Kim Bailey’s yard in Lambourn as Assistant Trainer.
In 2001, Charlie joined Nicky Henderson at Seven Barrows and during this time won the “Alex Scott Memorial Fund Assistant Trainer’s Scholarship (2004)”, which took him to the United States, where he worked with champion trainer, Todd Pletcher.
During his time at Seven Barrows he played a leading role in the yard’s success and was involved with multiple Grade 1 and Cheltenham festival winners such as Marlborough, Fonmont and Trabolgan. In his second season he achieved 20 winners from a team of 25 horses, including two placings at the Cheltenham Festival.
Based in the Cotswolds, Charlie’s new purpose built training yard is the perfect place for our horses to relax and prepare for the racecourse.
