Spring Bok

He is a three year old who was gelded when he arrived at Richard’s yard. He was bought by Dr Richard Newland at Arqana sales in France  on 14th November.

He is rated an impressive 91 on the flat in UK terms and has been running in high class Conditions races on the flat in France. He has been placed in three of his four races including winning the Prix Jacques Cartier 3yo Conditions race at Saint-Malo on 26th August this year.

You’ll note that he is very well bred and he has a shown an impressive combination of speed and stamina in his races.

Interestingly David Pipe bought a horse called Friday Night Light earlier on the same day for 95,000 euros which was beaten three lengths by Spring Bok in a £25,000 Conditions race on 26th September over 1m2f. Friday Night Light was carrying eight pounds less than Spring Bok that day, which makes our purchase look excellent value.

Spring Bok was bought by Richard Newland for 37,000 euros which once commission is paid to the auction house and transport back to the UK will total around £35,000.

Foxtrot Racing has enjoyed another incredible year, with seventeen winners in 2016 already. We have a 33% win to run strike rate, which is an incredible achievement and comes on the back of an excellent year for results in 2015. Spring Box has been bought in the hope that he can take Foxtrot to a new level of having winners at the most prestigious national hunt meetings. He offers a combination of value for money with the class and ability.

The Syndicate

While we usually have 20 shareholders in a syndicate, this particular syndicate will be divided into just 7 shares. Each of the seven shareholders will contribute £5,000 each for the capital purchase. There will then be £3,750 (can pay in instalments) to cover all racing/training costs until end of November 2017.

“Dr Newland is trainer with a burgeoning reputation for his novice hurdlers. That title goes hand-in-hand with his ability to improve horses from other yards” AtTheRaces 26th June 2016
