Fergal O’Brien is leasing our new syndicate a talented mare called Jennys Surprise.
This partnership is a cost-effective way to get involved in Foxtrot Racing with a talented mare with proven form. The partnership should enjoy some exciting days out at Grade 1 courses over the coming season with this talented mare.
Jennys Surprise will be going chasing this winter. She acts of soft and heavy going. After winning a Point to Point in Ireland she has run 14 times in her career under rules winning four and being placed ten times. She has won twice at Sandown Park, which takes some jumping, including the Grand Military Gold Cup. She was placed in the Durham National last October.
She did suffer a fracture in her pelvis last season. Although it required time off the racecourse, this is not considered a serious injury and she has been back in full training without any issues. As it is a lease arrangement we can cancel our training fees if she gets a serious injury, so it’s a low risk arrangement for the syndicate.
Her handicap mark has now dropped to a career low of 120 after time off the racecoruse so there is plenty of scope for her to be very competitive off her rating.
She has been back in training since late July and Fergal is considering the November meeting at Cheltenham for her first run of the season.
Jennys Surprise is a tough and genuine mare with a touch of class and should provide plenty of fun for the season without the costs involved in purchasing of horse of this type. It looks a good arrangement for the syndicate.
A share in the syndicate (20 members) is £1,000 for the season. This can be paid upfront or in instalments. At the end of the season (30th April 2018) you will receive a financial statement so it’s a very transparent way to ensure you know exactly how your subscriptions have been spent and your return calculated.
